Description. Description: Directed by Hong Khaou, LILTING tells the story of a mother’s attempt to understand who her son is after his untimely death. Her world is suddenly disrupted by the presence of his lover. Together they attempt to overcome their grief, whilst struggling withnot having a shared language.

The idea behind the design was to help and to accompany all the film’s emotional layers in a beautiful and stylish way, while still keeping it "real". This was achieved by building an atmosphere full of delicate colours and intricate textures. Clean and contemporary colours were used in some key sets to express the loneliness and sense of loss, whereas decorative elements, such as ornate wallpapers, were used to express the sense of culture clash and feeling of "non belonging" of a mother who has lost her son and now feels trapped in an unfamiliar environment.
